Nervous Excitement Ahead of Sandown for Zoe Woods
Zoe Woods returns for her second round in the Australian Production Cars this weekend at Sandown Raceway with TekworkX Motorsport.
Woods made her national level debut last round at Queensland Raceway in the Class C Hyundai i30 with Luke Youlden joining her for the Saturday Night endurance race. The duo combined for a runner up result in the two-hour race with Woods also finishing second in the two solo races that completed her maiden weekend.
This weekend will mark a fresh challenge for Woods as she prepares to turn her first ever laps of Sandown during Friday practice. It will also be a solo driver event, with two 30-minute races on Saturday before a one-hour race on Sunday morning.
“I’m a little nervous to be heading to Sandown as it is a track I haven’t driven yet,” said Woods.
“It’s exciting though to be going somewhere new after doing a lot of testing and a few races in Queensland. I was fortunate to go down when the team were running Carrera Cup last month and learn a lot in preparation.
“I went on the track walk with the team and also sat in on all the end of session de-briefs which allowed me to gain a good base understanding of the track. Max (Vidau) and Luke (Youlden) will both be supporting from trackside which will be a huge benefit when it comes to analysis between each session.
“I am really looking forward to the weekend, I’m nervous of course but that’s just part of being human,” concluded Woods.
Round three of the Australian Production Cars, and Woods’ second round, will be in action at Sandown Raceway from September 16-18 alongside TekworkX Motorsport’s two cars in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge.
