Stutterd Joins Sticklen in Sprint Challenge Line-up
2018 Pro-Am Champion in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Danny Stutterd will return to the series this weekend with TekworkX Motorsport alongside Nathan Sticklen.
Stutterd will take over the car driven at the first two rounds by Rob Woods, who achieved five top 10 finishes across the six races. Sticklen will return in Class B after claiming a podium in his first race at Queensland Raceway last time out, finishing third in both races one and two before claiming fifth in the final race.
Round three of the Championship takes place at Sandown Raceway, with the weather forecast indicating it could be a soggy trio of races with rain expected all day from Friday through Sunday.
Stutterd will be able to draw on his wealth of racing experience to cope with whatever challenges are thrown up.
“I am very excited to finally get back to racing, I’m looking forward to seeing what has changed from a few years ago when I last raced in the category,” said Stutterd.
“I really enjoy the Porsche’s and find that it’s a pure form of racing thanks to how well managed it is as a spec series. To be competitive it takes an effort from all the team and really emphasizes that it is a team sport and not an individual one.
“There isn’t a great deal of expectation for me this weekend, I’m eager to work with a new crew and getting stuck back in to competing again,” concluded Stutterd.
For Sticklen, it will be a first race outside of Queensland as he eyes excitement in a fresh track to tackle.
“Now that my first couple of races and full round is out of the way, a lot of the anxiety has gone away,” said Sticklen.
“I’m excited to be going to Sandown now and experiencing a new track. It was quite eye opening and I realised that raw pace isn’t always the key to being up front. Developing race craft is what gets you up there and that’s what I need to work on now.
“Goals haven’t changed for me, I’m just happy to be out here racing and I’m excited to have some battles across the weekend.”
Stutterd and Sticklen’s Sprint Challenge attack will be joined by Zoe Woods in Australian Production Cars this weekend at Sandown Raceway.
