Vidau Set to Join Zoe Woods in Production Car Finale

Nov 9, 2022

Carrera Cup star Max Vidau will make his debut in Australian Production Cars when he teams up with Zoe Woods in the TekworkX Motorsport Hyundai i30.

Woods has enjoyed a strong maiden season in her racing career, completing three rounds in Production Cars so far. Across the season Woods has been joined by Luke Youlden and Daniel Jilisen, while also completing a solo round. Results have been consistent with six runner up results from seven races.

Vidau will join Woods for the season finale as the team chases a runner up finish in the Class C championship for the young racer. Vidau, much like the first two co-drivers this season, has been hands on in the preparation and running of the Hyundai through the season. Vidau has also been a constant voice of guidance on the radio as he has coached Woods through each round so far.

Despite missing five races this year, the opening round and two on Sunday at Tailem Bend through Turbo issues, Woods is well in contention to vault from her current placing of fifth and into second for the Class. The championship wraps up with four 30-minute races, with Vidau having to run one race at minimum.

Woods enters the round just 17 points away from second place in Class C in the standings, with the season to conclude from November 10-13 at Mount Panorama.

Max Vidau

“Any opportunity to race at Bathurst is a good one so I’m pretty excited, it should be good fun and a different experience to what I’m used to in the Porsche’s,” said Vidau.

“The main idea behind me getting in the car is help Zoe even more, as it’s her first time driving at Bathurst. It also gives me a really solid understanding of the car which will help us quite a bit moving forward.

“Luke and Jilly did an exceptional job when they jumped in, so I definitely want to continue on from where they left off. I’d love a bit of rain actually, that would be a lot of fun in this car.”

“I’ve had the privilege to attend Bathurst many times but now I get to actually race there and it’s a dream come true,” said Woods.

“I know it’s the most challenging circuit in the country, and one of the most famous tracks in the world but I’m feeling pretty confident thanks to the team I have around me.

“Max has been coaching me all year, along with Luke, so it will be great to see what he is able to do in the car. We’re pushing really hard to achieve second in class for the year, and with a strong weekend that is definitely achievable.”
