Australian Grand Prix Preview
This weekend marks the opening round of the 2024 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Championship, taking place on the support card for Formula 1 at the Australian Grand Prix.
David Russell and Danny Stutterd will line up for the team, with Russell representing Hire A Hubby – who return after a successful season with TekworkX in 2021.
In 2022 TekworkX claimed the AGP round win through four podium finishes from Max Vidau, while in 2023 Vidau was again the equal highest points scorer for the round. The team have finished on the podium in every attempt around the Albert Park circuit so far.
Russell was also fast at the Grand Prix last year, racing to a top five in the final race of the weekend. Stutterd meanwhile will look to carry on from where he left off at Adelaide last year, with three top five finishes including a podium in the final race of the season.
As usual, the nature of the Australian Grand Prix provides a unique schedule and challenge for teams and drivers. Thursday sees a sole practice session, prior to qualifying and the first of three 15 lap races.
Friday and Saturday both see one race each, both of which will see cars racing into the twilight at 6:25pm.
Qualifying and all three races will be live on Fox Sports/Kayo.
