TekworkX Ready to Finish Maiden GT4 Season in Bathurst
Fresh from their best weekend of GT4 Australia racing to date, TekworkX Motorsport will head to Mount Panorama this weekend for the final round of the season.
The winning partnership of Daniel Jilesen and Zoe Woods will be reunited, having claimed an historic Pro-Am class victory and outright podium in a wild Race 1 at Sydney Motorsport Park. Woods became the first female class winner in GT4 Australia history, with Jilesen leaping to the number one spot in his debut race.
Woods has logged multiple visits to Bathurst in the GR Cup as well as a round in the Australian Production Cars, with this weekend marking her first Bathurst start in a GT4.
“I’ve been around Bathurst a few times, it’s such a cool track and it’s so special to be able to race there with all the history behind it. This will my first time in a faster car at Bathurst, so I just need to focus and take it easy the first couple of laps and find the confidence,” said Woods.
“Porsche make amazing race cars and I feel like the car will be suited to Bathurst so well, with long straights and tight corners the Porsche is the perfect size for all of the hoops Bathurst throws at you. I think working with Jilly has been such a good thing for myself. Having so much knowledge about the brand and car, that is something TekworkX value, and after our win on Saturday afternoon I think it was no brainer for myself and the team,” concluded Woods.
Making their category debut in the #290 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS are Porsche Sprint Challenge graduates Ramu Farrell and Andrew Georgiadis. Both drivers contested the Pro-Am class this season, Georgiadis winning two races to claim third in the standings while Farrell claimed four race wins from three rounds.
“Looking forward to joining Rob and the TekworkX team for the round,” said Georgiadis.
“Beyond excited to hit the track and race in the GT4 for the very first time, and there’s no better place than the mountain! Can’t wait to see what this experience brings,” said Farrell.
In the BMW M4 GT4, Ryder Quinn and Steve Jakic will continue their season-long Pro-Am partnership. The duo has taken six podiums and two race wins throughout 2024, to sit second in the class standings ahead of the final two races of the season.
The action gets underway at the Bathurst International from November 8-10, with both races shown live on 7plus.
