TekworkX Roll Out Brand New IRC GT Car at The Bend
TekworkX Motorsport have debuted their brand new IRC GT, at The Bend Motorsport Park, as part of the MARC Cars Australia Championship.
Set to be primarily driven by Danny Stutterd, he will share the car this weekend with race winning Carrera Cup teammate Max Vidau.
In Practice 1 this morning, Vidau steered the car to the top of the timesheets with a blistering 1:48.8660s.
The IRC GT features an LS3 engine producing 565 horsepower, plus a complete aero package that will see the car shine around the high downforce corners of The Bend.
Round four of the MARC Cars Australia Championship features three 30 minute sprints, with Stutterd and Vidau to share the driving duties across the trio of races.
“It’s an amazing car, just sitting there it reminds of the old DTM cars with the big wings and splitters, it looks incredible,” said Vidau.
“I’m excited to be driving a V8, it’s going to have a bit more torque than I’m used to, a bit more downforce plus ABS and Traction Control which I’ve never raced a car with before. Getting to drive with Danny is awesome as well, we’ve been teammates in Carrera Cup this year and it’s great to have the opportunity to team up with him in the same car.
“Danny will be driving it a bit more than me in the future, so it’s all about making sure he’s comfortable in the car. I’ll drive around the setup he wants and see if I can chase some lap records,” concluded Vidau.
Stutterd and Vidau are on track from October 13-15 at The Bend Motorsport Park as part of the Shannons Trophy Series, where TekworkX Motorsport are also fielding three cars in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge.
